The new tv trailer for ‘Rogue One‘ gives a glimpse at not only the new ‘Star Wars‘ characters in action, but a sense of scale for the forthcoming prequel story…
The much-anticipated new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally arrived and despite belief that it would be a similar trailer to the one shown at the ‘Celebration‘ event a couple of weeks ago, the latest promo, which debuted during Olympic coverage in the US, is significantly different and contains many new scenes and dialogue.
While opinion is generally divided on whether the film… set immediately before ‘A New Hope‘ and detailing the stealing of the plans for the Death Star that would be so important to the Rebellion (and Luke Skywalker in particular)…will be a classic or not, we have to say we’re initially quite impressed with some of the sequences and their sheer sense of perspective and scale here. All the main characters are highlighted here, giving a sense of how they interact and the overwhelming odds they appear to be facing. And there’s yet more scenes of Donnie Yen in action.
Though not shown here fully (just glimpsed at the end), we do know that Darth Vader, voiced once again by James Earl Jones, will feature in some capacity in the film and there are also rumours that digital trickery or subtle recasting will also bring back the likes of Peter Cushing’s Grand Moff Tarkin.
Rogue One opens this December. We think you’ll be hearing a lot more about it between now and then…
