After the proposed Wonder Woman TV series was seemingly dropped, it may have been reprieved at the 11th hour with a little help from McG…

In a dramatic U-turn just after the last issue of Impact went to print, the much-touted, but apparently abandoned live-action Wonder Woman TV pilot from David E Kelley got a reprieve from NBC. WBTV had taken the proposal to the networks in the first week of January, but after due consideration, no-one nibbled as the licensing would be too prohibitive. But with various shifting of projects and personnel behind the scenes it now looks a go – at least to a 'pilot' stage (which doesn't confirm a full series will be commisoned, but it's a good start).  If all is successful, it would be the first time a Wonder Woman series will have been on air since Lynda Carter’s iconic run in the late 70s.

News that her alter ego Diana Prince will now be seen as successful corporate executive secretly fighting as a costumed vigilante in LA has left fans with a raised eyebrow and wondering if this will turn out to be an innovative twist or merely a ‘Super-McBeal’ scenario. There's also speculation that McG – who helped bring the two Charlie's Angels movies to the big screen – may be chosen to direct the pilot.
