War and PEACE: Adrian Paul’s ‘Sword Experience’ heads to UK…

Adrian Paul - PEACE Fund

There can be only one, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t hone your sword skills… Adrian Paul brings the ‘Sword Experience’ to the UK in June…

Peace FundIn 2015 Highlander: The Series star Adrian Paul ran a charity-event where he could teach eager fans and pupils the basic art of sword-fighting and fight choreography. The idea was originally a one-off event to raise money for his PEACE Fund (Protect Educate Aid Children Everywhere) which the actor began back in 1997, supporting international projects aimed at making life better for disadvantaged children. However the initial day-event went so well that a series of other ‘Sword Experience‘ initiatives were then organised beyond the original charity remit and as simply a way for a wider group of fans to have more of a hands-on experience.

Over the last year, Adrian has given fans and sword-enthusiasts the chance to join him at various conventions and separate events, offering advice on technique for both novices and those with a longer interest in the art-form. The experience teaches not only the physical movements that actors need to master to look convincing on screen, but also the attitude and approach to practice and concentration that can be applied to other parts of life as well.

And in June, Adrian will be bringing the ‘Sword Experience‘ to the UK. In the first of several planned stops across Europe, the British event will be taking place at the Cressing Temple site, the ancient monument situated between Withal and Braintree in Essex (close to the villages of Cressing and White Notley). On 19th June, the venue will host a four and a half hour event, utilising the vast recently-restored barns as a backdrop.

The event will be open to adults (and those between 15 -18 with parental consent).
