Despite some lukewarm reviews and controvery about additional reshoots (the latter delaying the film's original release date by several months) it looks as if G I Joe: Retaliation ultimately made enough money for Paramount and HASBRO to feel comfortable with continuing the toy-based franchise. Snow White And the Huntsman scribe Evan Daugherty (who also reworked some of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles script and has written the sci-fi film Killing Season, starring Robert De Niro and John Travolta due out next summer) has just been announced as the man hired to write the third, as yet untitled, G.I. Joe 3 movie which will once again be directed by Jon M. Chu.
There's no news on which of the original/existing cast will return for the next chapter - the last sequel saw several key characters written out or remaining off-screen and the likes of Bruce Willis and The Rock being given centre-stage to make up the numbers...
