There's been a noted trend in cinema poster design. Where once any self-respecting star wanted their face plastered across the image, the modern equivalent is more likely to have the star or character snubbing the audience, standing with their back to them and perhaps stealing a glance over their shoulder if the mood takes them. Seriously, it's hard to go more than a few months before such a framing device appears on billboards.
But arguably, this could be the 'daddy' of the all, just released by Yahoo! When Godzilla himself chooses to walk away from the image, you need to be either thankful he's not breathing fire in your direction or be a little miffed that you are beneath his notice. However, there's no denying that anticipation is growing for the Gareth Edwards-helmed film in which the director swaps his low-budget 'Monsters' outing for the biggest monster money can buy. We've liked all the teaser posters for this film so far, so we hope the final film measures up.
Godzilla may have trashed Tokyo in this image, but both America and the UK will have to wait to feel his wrath until May 16th.
