It's the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy but it seems part of it is even tougher than Han Solo. Actor Harrison Ford was apparently air-lifted to an Oxford hospital from the set of the new Star Wars movie with an ankle-injury following a problem during filming. No-one on the set is confirming anything other than Ford needing to get his ankle checked out, but rumours suggest that he was on the Millennium Falcon set when whatever happened resulted in the injury. on a day with war stories, football matches and political reports, the news of Ford's injury surprisingly made many of the tv news bulletins, despite the lack of real information.
Various tabloids ran stories claiming Ford's ankle was 'crushed' on the set and others that the incident involved a garage door. The official Disney statement simply read: “Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”
It does appear, so far, that the injury is too serious nor that it will hugely impact the shooting schedule for the much-anticipated sequel.
