Tempus Fugit? Will Harrison turn 'Fugitive' again?

15th May 2015

Ready for Han Solo in 'Star Wars' and possibly primed for Rick Deckard in 'Blade Runner', might Harrison Ford be about to reprise yet another key role from his past?

Harrison Ford back for The Fugitive?Whoever said you 'can't go home again...' clearly never worked in Hollywood. The industry's elder statesmen appear to getting retro-active when it comes to revisiting their hits. In the last few years we've had Stallone revisiting Roky and Rambo and in a few short months, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be Terminating with extreme prejudice once more.

Harrison Ford's appearance as Han Solo in the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was the promotion's high-point and we've known for some time that a thematic sequel to another of his early hits Blade Runner is also in the works. Now, in addition to rumblings about yet another Indiana Jones adventure comes news of another surprise project that could be on his radar: another Fugitive film. Ford starred with Tommy Lee Jones in the 1993 big-screen adaptation of the classic 1960s series (that originally starred David Janssen and ran for 120 episodes before an atypical and conclusive finale) which told how Richard Kimble went on the run to clear his name after the murder of his wife, for which he was framed. A sequel followed in 1998, featuring Tommy Lee Jones chasing another fugitive proclaiming his innocence - this time played by Wesley Snipes. There was an attempt to revive the format for television with Tim Daly in the title role, but it failed to ignite beyond its debut season and was not renewed for a second run.

It is not definite at this point as to whether Harrison Ford or Tommy Lee Jones will be back for the project which is being described as 'a new installment' rather than a remake or a direct sequel, but Arnold and Anne Kopelson are returning as producers with an eye to begin filming in early 2016.

If Mr Ford is enticed back, can we humbly suggest is involvement is firmly on terra firma?
