Black Rose blooms for Alexander Nevsky, Adrian Paul, Kristanna LokenEverybody's favourite Russian bodybuilder-turned-movie star Alexander Nevsky returns to Impact with an exclusive first look at the new international artwork and trailer for his directorial debut Black Rose, which also stars Terminator 3's Kristanna Lokken and TV's Highlander Adrian Paul.

Written by George Saunders and former 80's action hero Brent Huff (9 Deaths of the Ninja, Gwendoline), the film is Nevsky's directorial debut, and the Russian Schwarzenegger means business.

The plot: A brutal serial killer is killing Russian prostitutes in Los Angeles, leaving a 'black rose' to identify his victims. The LAPD is baffled and the Police Chief (Robert Davi), readily accepts the arrival of Russian Major Kazatov (Alexander Nevsky) who can help liaise with the Russian community. Kazatov is partnered up with LAPD detective Smith (Kristanna Lokken), but the deeper they investigate, the more bodies start to pile up and the more mysteries seem to be uncovered.

There's more than a few familiar faces popping up in the movie. Highlander's Adrian Paul previously co-starred in Nevsky's Moscow Heat; the seemingly ageless Mathias Hues pops up in a villainous role and Robert Davi seems to be enjoying himself as the Police Chief.

The film which has already had a theatrical run in Russia, made its market debut at this years American Film Market, selling to 17 Countries. Full review to follow, but for now the trailer....
