According to trade-paper The Hollywood Reporter, Donald Faison looks to be the next major signing for the Kick-Ass sequel which will start shooting in a few weeks' time, ultimately lensing in both the UK and Toronto. The actor will be familiar to TV viewers from his role as Turk in the hit comedy Scrubs, but the actor has also appeared in sci-fi thriller Skyline, Cubed and is also one of the featured voices in the highly acclaimed animated series Tron: Uprising.
Faison is apparently close to signing for the role of Dr.Gravity, described as ' a copy-writer by day, but who dresses up at night as a superhero and wants to start a team called Justice Forever...' He will join Aaron Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse who will be reprising their roles (Kick-Ass. Hit-Girl and Red Mist, respectively) from the original.
Jeff Wadlow is stepping into the director's chair, though Matthew Vaughn will be a producer and his MARV Films will oversee the project. The story itself will have elements of the Kick Ass 2 and Hit Girl comics, written by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita Jnr.
We'll have more from the project as it heads towards filming, in the weeks to come.
