It's hard not to watch the trailer for the forthcoming Prisoners and not be horribly reminded of recent abduction stories on both sides of the Atlantic - the hopelessness that one feels as as an individual and a community when children are involved.
But Prisoners has all the hallmarks of a quality thriller, proving - if there was ever any doubt - that there's more to Hugh Jackman than the adamantium-laced claws that look likely to dominate the box-office this summer. Equally, there appears to be able support from the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and the udner-rated Terrence Howard - with a non-comedic turn from Paul Dino as the young man Jackman believes is guilty of abducting his child...
