Godzilla has had a mixed history at the cinema. From the classic and beloved 'man in a suit' era through to the better special-effects of (but ironically less appreciated) 1998 film starring Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno, the giant thunder-lizard has carved a wake of desolation but a warm spot in genre-fans' hearts. In May we get to see the latest incarnation, courtesy of director Gareth Edwards.
Ahead of the release comes a final trailer, giving us a better glimpse of Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and much carnage... if not the monster itself. It's hard to tell much from the trailer - will it be more 'Cloverfield' than 'Independence Day', will it tilt towards 'Pacific Rim' or 'The Day After Tomorrow'?
Whichever way it goes, it looks like buildings will fall, planes will plummet and the studio hopes box-office receipt will soar. We'll reserve judgement on the scale of the 'disaster' movie until we've seen the finished result...
