Leo Owen is a qualified magazine journalist and sub-editor who has gone the freelance route since abandoning her previous English secondary teaching career, travelling extensively and formally retraining. Leo specialises in travel, the arts, entertainment and general features.
She blogs at digestingthefat.blogspot.com and has written for a variety of newspapers, magazines and websites. For years her passion for music and film equalled one another until one day the balance tipped and she began obsessively recording films onto meticulously labelled videotapes. Several years down the line and old enough to earn her own cash, she started touring second-hand market stalls, purchasing over-sized ex-rental videotapes until DVDs came along and a new collection began.
Having returned from a year on the road, Leo now lives a split hobo’s life between Leeds and London, wishing there was an extra day in the day and trains weren't so extortionately expensive.
