Donnie Yen - who appeared in the big-screen Highlander outing 'Endgame' will be starring in a new film that once again sees him playing a man somewhat out of time in Iceman Cometh 3D (aka 3D Bing Fung Hup), a redux of the late 80s ( and Clarence Ford directed) Yuen Biao tale of a swordsman who is frozen and thawed out in modern day Hong Kong. All warmed up, he must deal with culture shock and enemies from his past who have also come to the modern world.
The production was meant to start in early 2012 but various scheduling issues saw production finally aiming to begin in late 2012 (when there was a further delay as Stephen Shiu and Stephen Shiu Jnr stepped away and Mainland Zhongmeng Century Media purchased all rights and shares in the movie)/ Production has finally begun in Hong Kong, with Yen is period garb stalking the mean streets of Hong Kong.
The HK$200 million project is being co-directed by Law Wing-cheung and Yen who will also serve as the film's action director, and lead actor alongside Wang Bao-qiang and Eva Huang from Kung Fu Hustle. Impact is a big fan of the original Iceman Cometh and hopes the new take will be a worthy successor;
