Cape of Good Hope?

10th December 2010

New superhero series readies for 2011 debut

With comics and superheroes doing increasingly well in TV format, it was only a matter of time before another title invaded our homes. NBC’s The Cape, which is due to begin airing in the US early next year, will star ER’s David Lyons as policeman, Vince Faraday.

An innocent cop in (the fictional) Palm City’s corrupt force, Faraday is framed for a murder and left for dead. Separated from his family and forced into hiding, he is given refuge by a circus gang and takes on the guise of his son’s favourite comic book hero The Cape, fighting crime in the hope of one day returning to his family.

Featuring notorious British hard-nut, Vinnie Jones as Dominic Raoul, aka Gator (an intriguing character with a skin condition giving him the appearance of having scales) and James Frain as The Cape's arch nemesis Chess, this certainly sounds like a show to look out for.

Although not a huge amount of detail has been released so far, a US premiere date has been set for Sunday, January 9th but as yet there is no news of when the show will be reaching UK shores.
