Following on from news in the December issue of Impact, Jason Eisener's Hobo with a Shotgun now has a distributor.
The Hollywood Reporter says Magnet Releasing have picked up distribution rights for the flick. The inspired offspring of Tarantino and Rodriguez's Grindhouse feature, Hobo with a Shotgun stars Rutger Hauer as a disgruntled tramp who decides he's had enough of a town's corruption and delivers justice one shell at a time.
Eisner, who won a competition to have his spoof trailer for the film turned into a feature presentation, said: "May God have mercy on Magnet for having the bravery to unleash the madness that is Hobo with a Shotgun".
But Magnet executive Tom Quinn is full of confidence, saying: "Both Jason Eisener and Rutger Hauer were born to make Hobo."
The controversial film will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011. Magnet have indicated that they plan to release the film later on that year but haven't given an exact date at this point.
