D'oh! Homer's odyssey through 80s action!

It looks like the 1980s are all-new again as the Simpsons' present a montage tribute to the era and its action tv shows in this weekend's episode...

The Simpsons is well known for not only its pop-culture puncturing of the ego, but also the inventive opening credits sequence which changes form week to week. The latest episode of The Simpsons - due to air on Sunday 10th January - has a sequence that may well prove a guilty pleasure to older Impact readers. It spoofs a whole variety of 1980s' action television shows and sees Homer surfing the couch as he protects his city in true Miami Vice style... finding time to go up against the like of the deadly Ned Flanders.
