Toronto Film Fest hosts Bruce Lee ‘Birth’ bio…

Birth of the Dragon

The Toronto Film Festival is readying to show ‘Birth of the Dragon’ tracking Bruce Lee’s battle with  Wong Jack Man and it’s already generating interest…

Birth of the DragonThere’s been much talk about Birth of the Dragon, the film – directed by George Nolfi – which traces the infamous private conflict between Bruce Lee and Wong Jack Man, the opposing viewpoints about tradition and the subsequent creation of a new, distinct fighting style and era in martial-arts. The film hasn’t even been screened to a full audience as yet, but will get its official premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next week.

Set in the 1960s, the film features Philip Ng as Bruce Lee and Yu Xia as Wong Jack Man and early word from within the industry suggests that Nolfi – who directed The Adjustment Bureau and wrote the screenplays for the likes of Ocean’s 12 and The Bourne Ultimatum has successfully captured a pivotal part of the history of the martial-arts icon (and martial arts themselves) of which mainstream audiences might never have been aware.

Until full reviews are available, we do have a new, official poster for the production, which you can see here, one that has been designed to help with the possible sale of the movie to interested buyers and territories….
