Jurassic World Confirmed to be a Trilogy

Jurassic World’s director said a year ago that hoped to extend into a new trilogy of dinosaur-based chaos, but nothing then seemed to happen.

However, J.A. Bayona has now done an interview with Latino Review, revealing that he will be the director of Jurassic World 2, and also talked about the production processes and the plans for the franchise.

“The whole Jurassic World is a trilogy that Colin Trevorrow has envisioned. We’re writing the second chapter, and it’s very interesting where he’s leading the story.

“I grew up watching Steven Spielberg movies and I love those movies and the legacy, so it’s a question of being truthful to the legacy and at the same time, bringing new stuff that people will appreciate. We are still six months ahead of shooting, and so far, so good. It’s very exciting right now.”

Bayona and his team are currently running smoothly through the pre-production setup for the film, and so far, it all bodes well.

It is not yet known whether the team are aiming to move away from the traditional model of dinosaurs and theme parks into the wider world, or simply to rehash the old but classic story once again, but it seems that Trevorrow is the creative mastermind behind the whole franchise – much as Steven Spielberg was for the original series.

Currently, Jurassic World 2 is intending to see the return of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to our screens on June 22, 2018.
