Recent internet rumours and reports suggested that Firefly's Alan Tudyk had been cast as Hank Pym (whose alter-ego is Ant-Man, soon to be appearing in his own eponymous film directed by Edgar Wright). Equally actress Demi Lovato (Camp Rock) had ben linked with a female role thought to be Janet Van Dyne (aka The Wasp, aka Mrs Hank Pym) However Wright seems to suggest to the Moviefone website that both rumours are untrue, saying that the casting would be 'news to him'.
But it does look more likely that Jeremy Renner (so good in The Hurt Locker) who has been cast as Hawkeye in the Avengers movie will also turn up briefly in the forthoming Thor movie, in much the same way that Samuel L Jackson (as Nick Fury) cameos in other Marvel outings. Details of that appearance ae sketchy and there is no confirmation Jackson will also appear - both Paramount and Marvel have refused any official comment.
The story for the Avengers movie - directed by Joss Whedon - is being kept under-wraps, but a report in The Albuquerque Journal - the city where the film will shoot or several months in the spring - has made mention of two warring alien races, the Kree and the Skrulls, who have already formed major story-arcs in the comic continuity, so this may old into the movie plotting itself...
