Pyuniversal Soldiers? Albert goes to War…

Albert Pyun's latest

Hey Marvel, you may have some competition… as cult director Albert Pyun (who directed the first ‘Captain America‘ film) gives us his latest movie with some familiar ideas and imagery…

It looked for a while like one of our favourite cult directors, Albert Pyun (the man behind the likes of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Cyborg, The Sword & The Sorceror, Nemesis, Mean Guns, Captain America, Kickboxer: The Road Back and Road To Hell) had retired – ill health forcing him to hang up his director’s hat. But you can’t keep a good man down, and when you’re a film-maker like Pyun, and just as blood pumps through your veins, you know you gotta make movies. You assemble a team of talented people to work with you and jump back into action with your fifty-fourth film!

Interstellar Civil War is Albert Pyun’s vision of the universe at war. It stars Brad Thornton, Ellie Church, Kelsey Carlisle, Paul Gunn, Clare Hoak, Tommie Vegas, Jennie Carroll, Ashley Campbell, Nathan Ferrier, Nick Rush, Fulvia Santoni and Cat Cakmis as Leah C6.

Shot by Michael Su, who helped Pyun complete certain sequences when seizures caused by his illness incapacitated at times, the film tells of a universe on the verge of being torn apart by civil war. A vicious rebellion threatens the lives of millions, and when both sides learn of a cyborg with the secret to destroying the alliance, each side will risk anything to seize the power. It’s up the Galactic Rangers to battle to save the universe!

The trailer promises a return to the Pyun’iverse that we’ve been missing for far too long! Welcome back Albert, stay healthy and happy!
