Read part 1 of the Vic Armstrong interview
If, God forbid, Lloyd Grossman ever went Through the Keyhole at Vic Armstrong's house, he'd never guess the occupant from the surroundings, and have even less idea what the genial southerner does for a living. Not for Vic the flash and trash Hollywood style you might expect. He lives in the genteel manner of a Berkshire landowner. There are horses stabled at the back of the house, and the house itself boasts relatively little in the way of movie memorabilia, especially when you consider the big blockbuster flicks that Armstrong has worked on as either stunt arranger and/or second unit director. There are a few framed signed photos from the likes of Gibson and Stallone, and the original whip and hat of Indiana Jones hang from the study door, but what mementoes he has are mostly consigned to a jumbled drawer in his saddle room, where I'm certain that these Impact issues will end up in due course! Regardless of appearances, Vic Armstrong is the dean of all stuntmen. A sophisticated Apple/Mac computer network keeps him in touch with a vast number of contacts, from John Cheung in Hong Kong to Vic's brother Andy, who lives in L.A. "If you can mention Apple or Mac in the interview, so much the better," says Vic, who admits that he couldn't operate without the system. "We get a very good deal from them."
