It’s a film franchise with a particular set of skills and, this February, it becomes a series. Now we can see a little of what that the ‘Taken‘ adaptation has to offer…
There’s no Liam Neeson in the trailer for the television series inspired by the Taken film franchise, but Clive Standen seems to look the part.
Though set in a contemporary world, the series is something of a prequel, exploring and re-imagining a younger Bryan Mills and the road that originally led him through tragedy and drama…to use his skills in a way to defend not just his country but those he loved the most. In the series, his journey begins with a terrorist attack on a train. It is defeated by Mills but it comes at a terrible cost. In the wake of the drama he is approached by Christina Hart (Jennifer Beals) to join an elite CIA unit in which his ‘particular set of skills’ could play a wider role in keeping people safe from terrorists, cartels and the like.
But if he’s going to join that unit, he’s going to have to overcome his instincts for revenge – and that may be far easier said than done…
The drama starts unfolding on 27th February on NBC…
