Banshee howls back in January...

Brutal tv series Banshee pulled none of its punches in the series' 2013 debut. Expect more of the same when the show returns early in 2014...

Banshee returns in January 2014

"Sometimes the only way to get justice is with your own two hands..."

So goes the commentary on one of the trailers for the much anticipated Banshee: Season Two.  Several previews are being released for the show that arrives back on US screens via Cinemax  in January and which Sky Atlantic (in the UK) is already starting to promote itself.  The first series was a controversial mix of intrigue, sex and violence - the intense (and often outrageous) story of a man released from jail who assumes the persona of a murdered sherrif in the town of the title. But the man now known as Sherrif Lucas Hood has a dark and dangerous past that it hot on his heels. he's come to banshee to conenct with an old flame and fellow felon, but it soon becomes clear that there is danger around every corner from threats new and old.

Almost everyone at Impact Towers loved the first run and it was impresisve to note that this second run was given the green light almost immediately - and before the show even established itself as a fan favourite.  What can we expect from the second run?  Specifics are few and far between, but we think it's safe money to predict gunfire, some of the best down-and-dirty ad brilliantly co-ordinated fight sequences currently on air, gratuitous nudity and a fair amount of profanity - but all wrapped up in an OTT and testosterone-fuelled package.

One of the mood-setting trailers is here, below... and you can see another version with scenes from the show at Sky's own site, HERE... both might be considered... provocative.
