Game of Thrones is possibly one of the most anticpated series since the launch of last year's The Walking Dead. The television series is based on the acclaimed set of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' action novels by George R R Martin and is expected to follow the multiple storylines set out in the best-selling books. The stories take place in the land of Westeros where "...summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime," and chronicle the dynastic struggles among noble families for control of the Iron Throne. The cast is an impressive ensemble including Sean Bean, Lena Headey, Mark Addy, Peter Dinklage and Iain Glen and being on the US's HBO channel, the action is expected to be dark and explicit. Think Deadwood meets Lord of the Rings...
It debuts on HBO on April 18th and on the UK's SKY Atlantic (which has also bought most of HBO's back-catalogue channel) the following day. We can't wait... but will be featuring the show in #233.
