Cold Comforts for ‘Bruce Le’…

Best known as one of the ‘clones’ used for eastern entertainment in the wake of Bruce Lee’s death, Huang Kin-lung is making an impact in other genres as well…


Bruce Le (Huang Kin-lung) burst onto the market as one of the most prolific of the various ‘Bruce Lee Clones’ and starred in all manner of martial arts adventures as Bruce Lee or a Bruce-inspired character in such projects as Clones of Bruce Lee, Challenge of the Tiger, Future Hunters with Robert Patrick, Mission Terminate, Ninja Strikes Back, Ninja on the Great Wall, and so many more.

In the early 1990s Bruce directed and produced Comfort Women, a drama about the women forced to serve the Japanese occupational services in China, in 2014 he revisited the concept with The Eyes of Dawn starring Cheng Pei-pei as a former Comfort Woman who remembers her experiences , with her daughter Marsha Yuan playing the younger version. Now Le will embark on an ambitious TV series which will follow several women’s experiences as Comfort Women in collaboration with China’s MASTV, the 60 million RMB project will begin production in June with casting both in China and Internationally.

Le stepped away from the spotlight for 20 years or so, concentrating on both behind the scenes work in the entertainment business and other commercial ventures, but has stepped back into the Film and TV industry with a number of projects since his return. In addition to The Eyes of Dawn and the new Comfort Women TV series, he is in post-production on a Wartime adventure best described as a Chinese Braveheart meets First Blood It  tells the true story of a Chinese commando who raged a one-man war against Japanese forces on the border with Russia during WW2.

Le also has plans for one more epic martial arts action movie, which he hopes will rival Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon in setting the benchmark for martial arts movies.
