The K Tigers (Korean Tigers Taekwondo Demonstration Team) was established in 1990 and is one of the leading Taekwondo demonstration teams in Korea. Their charter is to promote the spirit of Taekwondo around the world. The team have participated in the World Taekwondo Championship, US Open Taekwondo Championship, demonstrated at the Sydney Olympics, the Busan Asian Games, and at the World Martial Arts Championship in Paris, and toured around the U.S., Europe and Asia. Several members of the team have also made the move into the Entertainment Industry with Taemi (Kim Gyeongsuk) and Na Taeju starring in Prachya Pinkaew’s The Kick, and Taeju also appearing in Pan with Hugh Jackman.
“The Ktigers kick ass! Long been a fan of Korean martial arts action on and off screen, I even managed to earn my Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. These guys are one of the best martial arts demonstration teams in the world, they pull off some incredible moves at live shows around the world, and they are as excited about film and film-making as I am. Some of their team like Taemi and Taeju have already begun to break out, but I think the best is yet to come. And I am very excited about working with them on the Ares project!’ Mike – who helped cast Taeju in Pan – explained.
The new project Ares will premiere as a web-series, directed by Woonsa, which begins with a devastating explosion destroying a factory… and the uncovering of a global conspiracy that forces one survivor to go on the run to save his own life and expose the truth!
The lead role will be taken by KTigers member Oh Hyung-kyun, an exceptional kicker who has been performing around the world with the KTigers and has shown his talent as both an actor and singer in several projects. Joining Oh, will be Go Woori from Rainbow who will play Detective Lee, comedian Choi Guk, MMA champion Yook Jin-su and Seo Won-bong will also appear in the project.
