Sean Bean - star of more action projects than we could list (but, let's cite Lord of the Rings, Patriot Games, Game of Thrones etc) - has been cast as the lead in American cabler TNT’s new drama pilot 'Legends' which is being executively-produced by Homeland‘s Howard Gordon.
Legends tells the story of a 'deep-cover operative' Martin Odum (Bean) who has an amazing ability to get under the skin of his very different and diverse cover identities - able to mimic characteristics and demeanour as needed. It's a role originally earmarked for Brendan Fraser (The Mummy).
It's just another high-profile project for Bean who has managed to juggle a number of projects in film and television over recent years. He will also be seen in next year's Scorched Earth film, a post-apocalyptic tale of survival directed by 24's Brad Turner and which features Bean as Atticus Gage, a weathered bounty-hunter taking on a mission into dangerous territory...
