The latest collaboration between Britkicker Scott Adkins and director Isaac Florentine Ninja 2: Shadow Of A Tear, which we've mentioned before, was given a great reception when it premiered at this year’s Fantastic Fest with Adkins, Florentine, co-star Mika Hiji and producer Frank DeMartini in attendance. In the Q & A that followed the screening, it was confirmed that a script is currently being written for Undisputed 4, which would bring back Adkins as Yuri Boyka for a third time.
Adkins had previously spoken of his own ideas for the further adventures of Boyka,
“For me, I would want to call it Boyka: Undisputed IV because now it’s out of the jail setting, “Boyka’s out of prison. It’s onto the next step of his life. I think people know the character Boyka so well now anyway that you could just go Boyka: Undisputed IV.”
Adkins has a number of projects set for release including Green Street 3: Underground and will be seen as King Amphitryon in Renny Harlin’s Hercules: The Legend Begins. He recently wrapped on the modern day actioner Wolf directed by Chinese martial arts hero Wu Jing who plays a Chinese counter terrorist operative battling a mercenary team lead by Adkins.
The man often referred to as 'The Man with the Deadly Lens', ACS & HKSC cinematographer Ross Clarkson has worked with everyone from Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ringo Lam, Isaac Florentine, Scott Adkins and Dolph Lundgren during the course of his career, proving himself to be one of the best action cinematographers in the business. The upcoming release of Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear looks to confirm his credentials once again. Director Isaac Florentine confirmed that he wouldn’t have been able to shoot the movie without Clarkson’s skills and involvement.
Clarkson has also been looking to take the next step in his career for some time, having written several scripts and helming the acclaimed short film Bad Romance (a modern day dark take on Romeo & Juliet). Now he’s looking to make his feature length directorial debut with Hammer On, a down and dirty action comedy that he hopes will launch a potential franchise with Thailand based British actor Byron Gibson (Only God Forgives) playing Meet Haddick, (a low class fight promoter) who forever finds himself in trouble. When his latest fighter loses at a Mafia fight and he finds himself in debt to the ultimate femme fatale, she’s sexy and dangerous and if he doesn’t deliver she will collect his soul…
Clarkson has just shot a proof-of-concept promo reel for the movie featuring Gibson and some other very familiar faces to fans of the martial arts action genre, including the 'Flying Dutchman' Ron Smoorenburg from Who Am I? and actor/fighter Brahim Achabbakhe - from Man of Tai Chi - who also choreographed the action for the trailer.
Clarkson’s indiegogo campaign for the movie can be found online at HERE Log on, check it out and donate to help Clarkson bring his vision to the screen.
