DEA or DOA? Arnie's next is 'Sabotage'...

8th February 2014

Arnie's next outing is a more gritty tale as he plays a DEA agent implicated in a drug cartel robbery for David Ayer's 'Sabotage'...

Arnold Schwarzenegger in SabotageArnold Schwarzenegger has wasted no time now he's back in the film-making business once more. Before The Expendables 3, we'll see him in a gritty new thriller called Sabotage, which is released in the US in March. The story concerns a rough and ready DEA assault unit with quite a reputation for getting the job done any way they have to. Their latest bust is almost too good to be true, uncovering millions in drug cartel cash. However problems arise when members of the team start dying and a huge slice of the recovered cash goes missing.

Now the team's leader, John 'Breacher' Wharton (Schwarzenegger) must stay alive long enough to convince his bosses AND the cartel that he's not a dirty cop with a seven figure, five finger discount. However as his team continue to be picked off, the stakes get even higher when Wharton's family become pawns in the game...

The film is directed by David Ayer, the man who helmed the likes of End of Watch and Street Kings (as well as writing the screenplays for SWAT, Dark Blue and Training Day) which gives an indication of the tone of the script, despite it's larger-than-life ensemble. The film also includes Josh Holloway, sam Worthington, Terrence Howard and Olivia Williams.

The film is released in the UK on 9th May. In the meantime here's the adult 'red-band' trailer for the film...
