It's nearly that time of year again...
Impact's John Mosby will be hosting the annual comics/movies panel at the Thought Bubble section of the Leeds International Film Festival this November.
Every year the panel takes a look at the symbiotic relationship between the worlds of comics and the movies (and television... and the internet... in fact, the ever-growing world of multimedia. 2014 has been a significant year not only in terms of actual projects... including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Spider-man 2, The Walking Dead, Gotham, The Flash, Constantine etc... but also in the major news for upcoming productions in 2015 and beyond.
Over the years the panel has brought together numerous well-known names from both the comics and cinematic world and it continues to have a diverse set of names to discuss the issues. This John he will be joined on the panel by Duncan Fegredo (2000AD, Hellboy, Shade the Changing Man) , Jock (The Losers, Wytches, 2000AD, Judge Dredd) , Ales Kot (Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier, Secret Avengers) and Emma Vieceli (Manga Shakespeare, Girl Comics).
The 'Stands to Screen' panel begins at 1:00pm on Saturday 16th November running for around fifty minutes in the 'Speech Bubble' Panel area and is free to attend for all those with a convention pass.
This is just one of the events that should appeal to those who love comics and movies. 'Silent Bob' himself, Kevin Smith will be a virtual/Skype presence when he presents the UK premiere of his latest film, the horror-outing Tusk and takes part in an exclusive Q&A at Leeds Town Hall on Saturday 8 November at 8.30pm. The event is part of LIFF's Fanomenon Day of the Dead 8 programme of films. The legendary Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins will be appearing with their new project Show Pieces the following week, undertaking a live Q&A at Leeds Town Hall, on Friday 14 November at 6.00pm
Fanomenon Day of the Dead 8 tickets are £25 full / £20 concession / Free with LIFF28 Pass, and individual Tusk + Kevin Smith Q&A tickets can be purchased for £8.00 full / £6.00 concession / Free with LIFF28 Pass.
