After rumours and many dicussions over the last few months, Cinemax will be working with Luc Besson (in an executive producer role) to launch a twelve-episode series based on the hit action Transporter franchise that originally starred Jason Statham (though there is no talk at the moment of him reprising the part for the show) . Estimated to be costing around $48 million to produce, France's M6 and Germany's RTL channels have already agreed deals to broadcast the show which is due to begin filming in Europe and Canada this summer, though there's no deal for the UK at the present time.
The series is expected to follow a similar format to the films in which 'extreme courier' Frank Martin travels through the criminal and down-and-dirty underworld, taking on assignments and promising to get pacjages delivered on time - for the right price. He only has three rules he lives by: Never change the deal, no names and never open the package. Of course, nothing could possibly go wrong, right?
