Arnie: Yes, He'll Be Back...

He said he’d be back… and it appears bankruptcy and mixed-reviews can’t sink The Terminator franchise. But it's still all to p(l)ay for...

Terminator Salvation got decidedly mixed reviews and The Sarah Connor Chronicles only lasted two seasons on FOX/SKY, but the real stumbling blocks concerning the Terminator franchise were behind the scenes with bankruptcy, rights issues and simply a lack of money to push the franchise forward.

Now it appears there is significant progress in bringing back the Terminator to the big screen and not only that, but with its original star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Though it is very early days as yet, it is known that Arnold is formally attached to a revival of the franchise that is currently being shipped around the major studios - and receiving quite a bit of attention. The current word is that Schwarzenegger sees The Terminator as the surest project to hit big after he returns to acting and Justin Lin, being lined up to direct, is getting a lot of attention after Fast Five did much better than anticipated box-office.

Lin has been rumoured for several projects, including a big-budget remake of the original Highlander movie, but it would be likely the ‘cyborg’ project would trump the ‘immortal’ one if Terminator was fast-tracked as is expected...
