Sean Bean, star of the first series of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings and prominent Facebook memes is set to appear in Scorched Earth, a post-apocalyptic action film which will be directed by 24’s Brad Turner in Turner's big-screen helming debut.
It tells the story of a future Earth that has barely survived a massive environmental collapse which saw billions of people die. A more basic society has emerged to bring order to the population left - of course, it's never that easy.
Bean will play Atticus Gage, a rough-and-ready bounty hunter who is given the biggest task of his career, but also potentially the most dangerous, when he is asked to track the wasteland's 'most wanted criminal'.
Sheffield-born Bean has been one of the industry's go-to hard-men for both television and film for the last twenty years and Turner is well-known for his work on not only 24 but also Hawaii Five-0, Nikita and the much-acclaimed Homeland.
