CBS’ Navy SEAL drama drafts in Boreanaz…

David Boreanaz

As ‘Bones‘ leaves the air after a twelve year run, star David Boreanaz is set to replace Jim Caviezel in CBS’ proposed Navy SEAL action show…

Last week CBS gave more information on its proposed Navy SEAL drama that it is prepping for the 2017-2018 schdules. Jim Caviezel, late of Person of Interest was announced as the main star, the character of Jason – the leader of the unit that is tasked with high-stakes, high-risk missions and a man facing challenges from his job and his personal life.

Now it’s been announced that Caviezel has left the project due to creative differences, but CBS has wasted no time in announcing his replacement, David Boreanaz. The actor came to fame playing the character of Angel in both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the eponymous spin-off. He then segued into another big hit, Bones, playing Seeley Booth opposite Emily Deschanel – that show reaches its explosive series finale next week after a twelve-year run.

Boreanaz will also serve as an executive producer on the Navy SEAL pilot (as yet to receive a formal series title), a similar deal to that which he had with Bones. He joins a cast that already includes the likes of Max Theriot, Neil Brown Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Pare.
