The third film in the re-imagining of the classic sf blockbuster franchise will arrive in cinemas in just a few months’ time. War for the Planet of the Apes sees both the remaining apes and humans on almost an equal footing, each apparently forced into a corner and at the mercy of conflicting agendas… and sadly little chance of things being settled amicably (the clue is in the title).
Andy Serkis once again gives voice and movement to the performance-art-rendered Caesar with Woody Harrelson as the human leader ‘The Colonel’ taking his remaining firepower to mount an assault to ‘save his species’.
We’ve been pretty impressed with the films to date – which combined quite amazing CGI-effects with a very human story on an apocalyptic scale. ‘War’ looks to continue that trend…
War for the Planet of the Apes is released by Twentieth Century Fox on 14th July…
