Few dramas are black and white but Marvel’s next superhero show will adapt ‘Cloak and Dagger‘ and is set to target a teenage audience… and there’s a new trailer to show its appeal.
With the big-screen, Netflix and even network superhero shows getting a majority of the recent comics-coverage, it’s been easy to forget plans to bring some more of Marvel‘s characters to the tv screen.
In 2018, the Freeform channel (previously ABC-Family) will be bringing the first live-action adaptation of Cloak & Dagger to the screen as a Beauty and the Beast / Romeo and Juliet type story aimed at a YA audience. It tells the story of the star-crossed relationship between a rich white girl Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) a young black boy from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ who are plunged into shared danger when a criminal’s nefarious plans goes wrong and re-establishes the strange powerful connection the teenagers already share after a chance encounter many years before.
She has power over light, he has power over darkness and only together can they find the perfect balance and the answers they seek to their survival…
